Hi friends! Today is Monday, so Carrie took me to work at with her. She works in an office where they create 3D design software, and boy did I learn a lot. Carrie works hard all day talking to customers, helping people learn how to use the software, and selling software to new customers. She also goes to meetings and helps her team reach their goals. I got to participate in all of the details, including an important meeting today that was 4 and 1/2 hours long. Whew!
Once we got home from work, we ate some of the leftovers from that big dinner we cooked yesterday. Carrie likes to relax in the evening by knitting, so she tried to show me how. I didn't exactly get the hang of it, but maybe I just need more practice.
We have to go to bed early tonight for another busy workday tomorrow, so that's all for now!

That's "Chef Stanley" To You!
Another busy day in Seattle. I thought I was on vacation, but Carrie really put me to work today! We made a quick trip to the grocery store, and then I threw on my apron and chef hat, and we put together the ingredients for a wonderful meal: braised lamb shank with carrots, onions, and red potatoes. Carrie did all the stuff with the big, scary knife, and I helped with seasonings.
While the food was cooking, we had some chores to do, including giving Daisy a bath. That meant back in the Zip-lock bag for me! I'm not exactly water-proof, you know? We got Daisy totally soaked from head to toe, and then lathered her up with her special doggy shampoo. She didn't seem to mind getting a bath at all. After we rinsed the shampoo out, Carrie dried her off in a big, pink towel.
Tomorrow Carrie is taking me to work at her office. I'm looking forward to meeting more new people, and learning about Carrie's job.

First Day in Seattle
Wow! I'm so glad I came to Seattle. I can't believe how exciting my very first day was! The first mission today was to make friend's with Daisy, the French Bulldog. I was scared at first... I thought she might mistake me for a chew-toy... but it turns out that Daisy is really friendly and lovable. We're going to get along fine.
Next, Carrie took me to breakfast at her favorite weekend breakfast place, Sara's Coffee Shop. The nice people who work there were excited to meet me, and hear about why I was visiting. The food was awesome! I wasn't feeling very flat after that meal, if you know what I mean.
After breakfast, the day got really exciting. Carrie made me a helmet and a sweet leather biker jacket, and we went for a motorcycle ride on Stan. It was cold (43 degrees) and rainy, but Carrie put me in a Zip-lock bag, and I stayed warm and dry on the ride. We rode through a beautifully scenic part of Washington to a small town called Enumclaw, where we stopped to warm up with coffee and a grilled cheese before riding back home. I'm exhausted from such a busy day, and I can't wait to find out what we'll do tomorrow!

Who Am I? And Why Am I Here?
Before you sink your teeth into this blog, a little background will probably help. My name is Flat Stanley, and my job is to travel all over the place, bringing many pictures and stories of my adventures back to my first grade hostess in Chillicothe, Ohio, at Allen Elementary School.
Cool fact: I'm currently visiting Carrie in Seattle, and found out that she also went to Allen Elementary School in Chillicothe, a very long time ago. Maybe this world is smaller than I thought? Other cool fact: Carrie has a motorcycle named Stan!
I'm really excited about what Seattle holds in store for me. I know I'm going to have a great time, so check in often and read along with my adventures!
